For organizations following fiscal tax year, form(s) 990-N, 990-EZ, 990, 990-PF, and 990-T are due by the 15th day of the 5th month after the tax period ends. However, If the 15th day of the 5th month falls between April 15 and June 15, the due date is July 15, 2020.

For example, if an exempt organization's fiscal tax year ends on January 31, the 15th day of the 5th month would be June 15. Since this falls between April 15 and June 15, the due date is July 15, 2020. On the other hand, if the fiscal tax year ends on March 31, the annual return must be filed by August 15. If that day falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or a legal holiday, the filing can be done on the next business day.

Exempt organizations following calendar tax year must file their annual return by July 15, 2020.
