IRS Error Code F990-137-01
If Form 990, Part IV, Line 23, checkbox "Yes" is checked, then Schedule J must be present in the return.

What does it mean:
The organization has checked "Yes" in Part IV, Line 23, Form 990 and has not attached Schedule J in the return. In this case, the IRS would have rejected the return

Here's how to provide the compensation information

  • You need to click on the Rejected by the IRS button for the rejected return to find the list of errors. Then, click the Fix Me button to resolve the rejection error.
  • Based on the filing type you have chosen, you will be navigated to the corresponding page.
    • Interview-based filing -  You'll be directed to the Compensation of Officers, Directors, Trustees, Key Employees, Highest Compensated Employees page, where you must provide the required compensation information
    • Form-based filing - You'll be directed to Schedule J, Compensation Information, where you must provide the required compensation information.
  • Review the details, and click the Transmit button to re-transmit your return to the IRS at no additional cost.
